I create large site-specific drawings for private and public commissions in playful dialogue with distinct elements of architecture. My work layers essentially simple forms that work together to make a more complex whole. My drawings shape large and medium scale environments into elegant and lyrical spaces allowing a dynamic relationship to arise between the artwork and the viewer. In my murals, art is not a contemplative object. Through my process, my clients become co-creators of space and time, and are invited to “live” their space, to inhabit it more deeply.
I combine life-long experience as a professional artist with a passion for ritual and sacred art, with the goal of engaging the spirit. I am committed to creating whimsical and entertaining visual pathways that open the viewer to the possibility of a transformational spiritual experience. I use drawing and geometric patterns to reinvent the space to help create a positive emotional state, offering a point of focus and positive sense of a home or business, some order in the midst of a busy life and chaotic world.
My public work, such as The Nomadic Labyrinth, is at its essence an interactive experience, and I bring this sense of collaboration—with the client, with architecture, with the use of the space I am creating in—to each project. I work and engage with clients to find the right fit for their lives and the space, whether it be a wall, stairway, or hallway.
