In celebration of incredible parks, open spaces and trail system, Adams County, Colorado, selected fifteen artists to create and install ground murals dedicated to the county's natural beauty.
Following the principles of Biophilia, my design for the Ground Mural Series is informed by the organic qualities of the nearby river and the local vegetation around the trail. It features repetitive lines that create a dynamic pattern woven into the trail's path, elevating the concrete surface into a sublime meditative landscape that encourages contemplation.

I ride my bike along the Platte River Trail and this is one of the works of art I encounter. There are many others using wood carving and trail painting. I interact with all of them in one way or another. I really enjoy riding over this piece of art. I experience it as a moving image and it brings me peaceful sensations and calming thoughts. It is near to the Platte River as well which links the art with the rapid, yet calming flow of the river. It is a wonderful experience and one I find encouraging and stimulating. Thank you for this wonderful gift.
